The National Testing Agency has been conducting the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Indian aspirants to the posts of assistant professor and junior research fellowship (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges since December 2018. This test consists of two papers, of which Paper-I—General Paper on Teaching & Research Aptitude—is mandatory. This paper is designed to test “reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness”. The test encompasses a variety of subjects not easily available in standard text books.

  • This book is a compilation of multiple-choice questions on each of the units of study prescribed by the UGC.
  • The questions are based on the UGC syllabus prescribed in 2019, which added some new topics in different sections.
  • Efforts have been made to provide adequate practice in the form of exercises comprising a variety of multiple-choice questions set in recent UGC NET and SET examinations.
